Hoi An, Vietnam - A Photo Diary

Hoi An, Vietnam - A Photo Diary

I loved Hoi An. The people, the food, the culture. Friends and family coming together every day to share coffee and food, streets filled with people and scooters already early in the morning, the buzz and vibe of life. Tree lined streets, banh mi carts spread across the town, coffee houses on every corner…

One of the things I loved the most, apart from the people I met and the amazing food I ate, was the culture of Vietnamese people - ALWAYS sharing breakfast and pretty much any other meal of the day with friends and family, the bonds they have, and the feeling of community. You see groups of friends sit on tiny red chairs all across town, basking in the shade of the trees, drinking coffee or tea, eating banh mi for breakfast, … It’s the most normal thing to do over there, and as Vee and Xuan told me, it would be strange for them to have breakfast on their own at home. Such a beautiful way of life.
